Two Fall Events This Weekend!

Ghost Hike @ Fort Fisher:
Accompany a Ranger down the trails of Fort Fisher State Recreation Area to explore the unexplained phenomenon that surrounds the Fort Fisher Area. These trails are closed during night hours but they will be open this night for those who join the Ranger on the ghost hike. You may bring flashlights if you like. You must call 910-458-5798 to reserve your spot because space is limited. Meet at the visitor center at 7:30pm. OCTOBER 22 - TWO HIKES 7:30pm & 8pm!!

Fort Fisher Fall/Halloween Festival
Come join the staff of Fort Fisher State Recreation Area for a fun afternoon of spooky programs, Fall/Halloween themed games, candy for Trick-or-Treaters and a hayride! Festivities begin at 2pm at Fort Fisher State Recreations Area's parking lot. Be sure to visit Fort Fisher State Historic Site before visiting us for more fun. The Hayride will be provided as a shuttle between Fort Fisher State Recreation Area and Fort Fisher State Historic Site. Vendors from the local community will be there to provide more exciting activities for you and your family. Two Ghost Hike programs will be offered that night at 7:30pm and 8pm. Make sure to call 910-458-5798 to reserve your spot because space is limited.

Pleasure Island Surf Fishing Challenge

Fishing starts Friday at midnight and ends Sunday at noon. No boats, sound or pier fishing. The awards dinner is Sunday from Noon until 2pm followed by the awards ceremony at Federal Point Shopping Center. Over $12,000 in cash and prizes based on 250 entries.
