Happy New Year!

As we come to the end of 2010 we’ve been reflecting on this past year. We are so thankful to have met so many warm and friendly people who came as guests and left as friends.  You made this year fun and exciting sharing your birthdays, honeymoons, anniversaries and summer vacations. Where did this whole year go?

While making your Carolina Beach lodging choice for your special getaway you could have stayed anywhere and you decided to stay with us. Thank you for making us your home away from home for that short while. Hopefully you felt comfortable and relaxed and we will welcome your smiling faces again sometime this coming year.

Pleasure Island Sea Turtles Nest Hatching, July 21, 2010

I came across this video by Dave Halpern it is by far the best one I have seen. This nest was south of Carolina Beach in Kure Beach, NC. Notice all the little Loggerhead Sea Turtles scrambling their way to the sea. Some need a little help to stay on track in the trench. They look so tiny and helpless, yet precious, beautiful and determined to soon take their place in the big blue sea. I hope this next summer we will be able to see one of the nests hatching.
