The Star News reported One Tree Hill gets full season pick up.

The CW announced Friday that it has ordered a full eighth season for the made-in-Wilmington, North Carolina drama series, ordering an additional nine episodes.

I had no idea how popular this series was until we have had guests stay with us who wanted to see the area in which this show is filmed.  The Star News has a Google Map pin pointing filming locations for the show over the years. I hope you like it. One Tree Hill Locations

Old Hotels, Carolina Beach, North Carolina

Last week we had a couple staying the whole week. Betsy told me she had been trying to find a hotel that she remembered staying at as a child with her family. She said that they came quite a few summers when she was a kid. She wondered what could have happened to the hotel. She searched all the listings for hotels here in Carolina Beach and could not find that particular hotel and I think they even drove around to try to find it. On the third or fourth night I went into the living room to chat with them and saw that she was looking at the Carolina Beach, NC Vol 1 book we keep on the coffee table. Well wouldn’t you know it inside the pages of that book was a picture of the Hotel Bame the very one she had been looking for. I love to hear these stories from our guests who have been coming to our area for their whole lives and even bringing the next generation to carry on the love of the sea, beach, boardwalk, aquarium and parks of our area into the future.

Cape Fear Fishing Report, Carolina Beach

Reading up on the fishing reports for the Cape Fear region for this time of year I have come across some interesting report sites. Such as CB Fishing which is a local site that has a great number of Charter Fishing captains reporting on the catches, what they are biting on and where they are catching all the fish.
The top fish being caught October and November are: Spot, Redfish, Sheep head, Flounder and Speckled Trout.
The Carolina Beach Marina is full of experienced Charter Fishing boats waiting for your call to take you out to catch your fill of fish. And once your fish are cleaned at the docks we have room in our freezer.

Leon Russell & Elton John?

You need to be at the 17th Annual Seafood, Blues & Jazz festival this weekend, October 9th & 10th, 2010. Shortly after Leon Russell plays on Pleasure Island he will be headed on tour with Elton John for the release of their first single, “IF IT WASN’T FOR BAD,” from their forthcoming collaborative new CD, THE UNION. While Elton John will not be accompanying Leon for this weekend it is a wonderful opportunity to see a great legend in a beautiful place and for a fair price.

The highly anticipated single is the first to be made available from The Union, the collaborative album with Elton John and Leon Russell to be released October 19th in the U.S. The album marks the first time these iconic artists have worked together since 1970.
“If It Wasn’t For Bad,” written by Leon Russell, features vocals by Elton John and piano and vocals by Russell along with an extraordinary band bringing a bold rock/country sound organically crafted by these true musical legends.
Our Carolina Beach bed and breakfast still has some rooms left for this weekend. Call 910-458-6244 today to secure you reservation.
